Recurring Error Message

Whether on line or off I get the message: Problem connecting to a software origin. Download (curl) error for ‘http//photos.inode.at/suse/openSUSE 12.3/repodata/repomd.xml’: the message keeps repeating. There is no Folder for Photos. I also have a 'New Folder" for which ownership and group are given as Root for which access permissions are greyed. Advanced Permissions are not accepted. Wastebin access is denied. Selecting files as root gives the only option of selecting Home and User. Apart from reloading the OS I can find no other way. :?

12.3 Linux 3.7.10–1.32

Well, http//photos.inode.at/suse/openSUSE 12.3/repodata/repomd.xml specifies no valid software repository, it is not even a valid URL.
Enter YaST->Software Repositories and remove or edit that repo.

I suppose the correct URL should be this:
http://packman.inode.at/suse/openSUSE_12.3/

There is no Folder for Photos. I also have a 'New Folder" for which ownership and group are given as Root for which access permissions are greyed. Advanced Permissions are not accepted. Wastebin access is denied. Selecting files as root gives the only option of selecting Home and User.

Is this related to the first problem?
I don’t really understand what you mean. Where do you have a “New Folder”? Where can you only select “Home” and “User”?
And what about “Wastebin access is denied”?

Please try to describe in exact steps what you are doing and what errors you get.
And if it is related to your desktop, you should tell which Desktop Environment you are using, too. (i.e. KDE, GNOME, …)

Check your repo list. Perhaps use

# zypper lr --detail

and post the output here with CODE tags. You can generate the CODE tags with the “#” button in the edit box for your reply. Then paste the command output between those tags.

You probably have that url as a configured repo. Maybe it was supposed to be packman, but somehow you inadvertently flubbed the name.
