Recommended 5G USB WiFi Dongle That Works With openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE 64Bit?

Hi,

Running openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE 64Bit fully updated.
Can someone recommend a 5G USB WiFi dongle that works with above?
Thanks!

Jesse

Hi
I think the biggest issue is chipset in use, you need to find that out for the device…

Is this a laptop? Or a desktop, if so does it have a Mini-PCIe connector on the motherboard?

I have found it easier to just get a USB powered router with ethernet, configure that up and use… eg gl-ar750s

Hi,

It’s a desktop.
There are no PCIe slots available.
I have a 2.4GHz USB WiFi adapter which works, but need 5G.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Jesse

Hi
Not one of the mini ones?

Again, you going to look for a chipset that works… realtek or intel, then check the manufacturers specs.

Hi,

Found working 5G WiFi USB 3 adapter:
ALFA Network AWUS036ACM 802.11ac AC1200 High-Speed USB Adapter
(worked out of the box on Tumbleweed)

Thanks!

Jesse

Not 5G but “5 GHz”.
