Question about Python 3 version strategy for openSUSE Leap 16.x

In Leap 15.0 to 15.6 (6 years), the default Python stayed at 3.6 throughout the entire series. Newer versions (3.9 , 3.12 …) available as optional installs, but repository support for their python3-xxxx libraries was somewhat limited.

Will Leap 16.x follow the same model? Python 3.13 as the default for the whole 16.x cycle for several years, with no major version upgrade until Leap 17 ?

@haohao Probably better to attend one of the Leap 16.X release meetings and ask…

Next one is scheduled for the 16th of July;
