Q: Squid / SquidClamAV /c-icap problem on Leap 42.2

Hi !

I’m having problem running Squid / SquidClamAV /c-icap on Leap 42.2.
Setup is based on this, configs copied from this Wiki with few adjustments.
http://wiki.squid-cache.org/ConfigExamples/ContentAdaptation/C-ICAP

The result is malfunctioning service, which aborts or block almost everything.

However, its not completely clear how to for example run c-icap service. In example its set as user squid and group squid.
Or should I use SuSE defaults and run as root?

Someone have working setup so it would be possible to understand what went wrong in my installation ?

Thanks in advance !

software.opensuse is down at the moment for maintenance.

But,
You should modify the steps in your guide as follows…

  • Instead of building from source, search for and install packages from openSUSE if they are available instead.
  • You can inspect the systemd Unit files if they exist to verify location of configuration files (or read MAN pages) and modify if needed.
  • Modify start/stop services and applications using systemd commands instead when available(which will likely be installed as part of the packages from openSUSE)

I used SuSE packages from repository.
Question remain - anyone had a success with such config on Leap ?

If you have specific questions and/or describe your problem in detail, you could get some help.

For now,
If you follow the suggestions I posted, you should likely be able to use the guide you are referencing.
Or, do you not know how to do the things I listed?
