…radio automation software, which is native to Suse.
I can’t locate a recent version in any of the repositories for v11.1, but I can for a few versions back.
Would it be ok to install this version even though I get a warning against doing so? Also, does anyone know whether this software will ever be updated?
Thanks in advance,
Baldrick.
Hi Kiwi, I was just researching this myself, i have never worked in radio before, however i have an interview to volunteer at a community based radio station tomorrow (Thursday).
As a native suse user - one whom usually can make things work, i am researching some kind of radio automation myself.
Something i can suggest to this new station before they get too bogged down with ms software…
i will keep researching this topic, but the main problem is the rpm.
A 10.2 rpm should work with 10.3 as long as you can satisfy all the dependencies (and they claim to include them on the download page).
But 11.x onwards the RPM’s are different.
So it wouldn’t work afaik.
Good Luck in your quest and keep in touch.
Stuart
Thanks for that Stuart, I thought as much.
Pity.
I have Direttore Pro (MIXTIME - Home of free Radio Automation Software package) installed, which is native to MS but works pretty well under opensuse using wine. However, it’s very cpu hungry, round 60%, yet under xp is around 10%. Someone suggested it might be more of an issue with wine than anything else.
I thought Rivendell may have been an appropriate alternative - but maybe not.
Cheers,
Baldrick.
