Problem with gnucash menus

Other applications have the same problem. Gnucash is just the last I opened. When I hover over a menu item, the balloon that pops up is light gray. The text is either white or a lighter gray, making the menu item unreadable. This does not happen with every app but a few. I cannot find a way to change the background on the menu items to any color that would permit me to read the text that pops up. Any ideas?

You probably need to go to System Settings / Application appearance /
GTK and change the GTK2 theme. ‘Raleigh’ works for me.
