Print to File Orientation Issue

I use Leap 15.3, and inskscape 1.0.1 (3bc2e813f5, 2020-09-07)
When I have a landscape page and try to print to file to PDF, the PDF comes out upside down.
I have played with all the settings and cannot figure out how to change that.

Can’t reproduce this issue –

  • Inkscape version – 1.0.1 (3bc2e813f5, 2020-09-07).
  • Leap 15.3.
  • SVG file produced by “systemd-analyze plot” – Leap 15.0 – date: October 2018.
  • Page size set to DIN A3 Landscape – width 420 mm; height 297 mm.
  • Save as PDF 1.5 – PDF page size 420 X 297 mm (DIN A3 Landscape) – page size is that of the exported page – shrinks to fit the PDF page …

The PDF is correctly oriented – when viewed with Okular – KDE Plasma Desktop …

  • What are you using to view the saved-as PDF file?

Mosty Okular. but the pdf come upside down no matter the viewer or if its emailed to clients using mac or pc.

to clarify the setting used to print to PDF file is rendering to 200dpi. Same thing happens even if I show to print to vectors.
I l know I can export or just save to pdf and not have this issue, but I need to send the file rasterized so it can not be manipulated by my customers.
I had a similar issue on past leap versions, anything landscape would print to pdf portrait, but there was a program called PDFmod, that is no longer available, that I could use to rotate and re save the files.

There is a couple of other tools to modify pdf files. A very simple one is pdfshuffler, available for 15.3: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.3/repo/oss/noarch/

Thank you for the recommendation. This does not exactly solves the issue, but it’s a solution.

Yep, even here print to file is upside down.
The one that work in inkscape is to save it as pdf first, then the orientation is fine
with pdf viewer like okular.
