Portable PC X Server

Hello

I am wishing to find a portable X Server for windows so that I can use ssh with X11 forwarding on my school machines. I have looked into Xming, but it is unclear whether that is portable.

Thanks

Xming installs on your windows box, so it goes wherever that goes. Is
that what you mean by portable? You can use it to allow SSH-based
X-forwarding from wherever else.

Good luck.

I suppose I was unclear. What I really meant by “portable” was that I could install it on a portable drive and it won’t leave settings behind on the machine I run it on.

I am 99% sure cygwin lets you do this. In fact, this looks promising at
first glance: http://www.dam.brown.edu/people/sezer/software/cygwin/

Good luck.
