Plugin or codec for AAC format

Dear all,

Does anybody know where I can get the codec for AAC format? I want to be able to listen to Songs in my iPOD which turns out to be in AAC format.

I use the gstreamer “ugly” plugins with rhytmbox or totem to play mp4 files that are stored on my pc.These files are a backup of my files on my ipod.I haven’t try to connect the ipod with rhytmbox yet.
