Please help with email contact for sane-airscan mailing list:

I am sorry really because of my question. I am trying to find the best way to contact the sane-airscan email list for help with debugging. I am trying to send the message to [redacted] and the message fails. How can I find this correct email address for the sane-airscan?

Login at github and open an issue here: GitHub - alexpevzner/sane-airscan: Scanner Access Now Easy - universal driver for eSCL (Apple AirScan) and WSD
Most developer prefer an official way to contact instead to mail at personal address.

I did end up messaging there and found that GitHub does not allow for .tar files to be uploaded for review. GitHub does though allow for .jpg and .log file type extensions though.

Thanks

If you want to help with developement you don’t upload a tar file. You branch, make a codechange and make a merge/pull request…

Should I remove my message which I initially placed in issues then?

Aaaah, my bad. You wanted to upload error logs…

Yes, they want the .log and .tar after debugging is enabled in /etc/sane.d/airscan.conf

[debug]
trace = ~/airscan/trace ; Path to directory where trace files will be saved

I’ve been able to workaround for now with "brother-MFC-J485DW" = http://192.168.1.20:80/eSCL mostly looking for opinions at some point though. I do wonder if port 80 is necessary. Why not 9050 or something different I think to myself.

Just as a moderation note - it is generally frowned upon to post other peoples’ personal information on public forums, even if the info is publicly available elsewhere. I’ve edited the original post here to redact the e-mail address.

As you indicated that you messaged them on github, in your report, just tell them you have the log files and such and would like to know the best way to provide them to them.

That makes sense about the moderation, I 'll take on a note on that.Trying to get it done to fast and making mistakes here so i’ll slow down.

Thanks

No worries - appreciate your understanding.
