play avi-files in 11.4

hello, I just installed 11.4 and its working like a dream, only I cant seem to play .avi files. does anyone know a solution for this?

Have you installed the respective codecs from Packmans Factory repository?

best to stick with packman 11.3 rpm’s for 11.4 at the moment as there are still a number of rpm’s not yet available for packman factory (like vlc)

Well, I got the avi-files to play with the factory repo, only thing is, the sound doesnt play. Am I missing a codec or plugin?

Probably you just need to check the mixer settings

I noticed that the problem only is with kaffeine, changing the mixer settings doesn’t help. In dragon player everything works fine. Is there a way to have my avi-files startup standard with dragonplayer?
