plasma 5: Icons missing?

I have some weird behaviour regarding the icons on the plasma desktop. I’ve tried to reproduce it in a virtual machine:

Directly after installation, the “fresh” desktop shows the oxygen icons, although the “Breeze” icon set is configured by default. See screenshot:

(These are Oxygen icons, right?)

So, in the System Settings, I press “Defaults” and “Apply”, log off and on again, and the icons are changed to “Breeze” (see http://susepaste.org/59197770). So far so good.

However: Is that really the intended icon for Yast? I’d rather expect a media player behind this. Even worse, some applications just have a “?” as icon see e.g. here:

Therefore, am I perhaps missing some icon package(s)? Anybody having the same problem?

Another thing you can see in the above screenshot: In Thunderbird, the icon themes are mixed somewhat (“Print” and “Delete” are different from the others), but that might be a completely different issue…

That’s not the “media player” icon, but the breeze theme’s generic filetype icon for applications/executables.

The “problem” is that the task manager now by default tries to display the icon from the application menu, but this cannot always be found and it falls back to the generic one…

Try to disable the option “Use launcher icons for running applications” in the “Task Manager Settings”.

Probably.
Thunderbird would use the configured GTK icon theme I suppose. Or those icons are just not part of the breeze theme so it falls back to other ones.

Great, that helped. Thanks!

OK. I found the setting in “System Settings”->“Application Style”->“GNOME Application Style (GTK)”: Set the “Icon Theme” to “Oxygen” and all Icons in Thunderbird will look similar.

Cheers,
Friedhelm.
