Philips 329P1H screen with Asus PN62 mini-PC

Hi,

Unfortunately my brand-new screen does not see any input signal after starting the kernel (Grub displays without problems), and goes into standby mode then. The graphics controller is “Intel Corporation UHD Graphics (rev 02)”.

There is no such problem with my old “ASUS VK266H” screen.

How could I get the new Philips screen working please?

Your display is a UHD docking station monitor - how is it connected to the mini-pc

usb-c cable via thunderbolt 3 port on PC
hdmi cable
display port cable

can the Asus PN62 drive an UHD monitor - many are stuck with FHD max video controller.

UHD is 3840 x 2160
FHD is 1920 x 1080

cvt can tell you what you monitor codes are
xrandr can make you monitor work at a undefined resolution.

this is how I force a FHD to an UHD monitor - the variable D is set to the monitor that OpenSUSE says is the live display.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve used HDMI (as with my old screen).

Now I’ve changed to USB-C, and it works! So no problem any more. I should have tried that before posting.

Your HDMI 2.0 have to work with UHD monitors.
Check cable - you need HDMI 2.0+ compatible cable. Possibly your cable is HDMI 1.2a or lower.
Use cables supplied with UHD monitor.

The cables seem to be ok. It works well with other PCs and the same monitor.
I’ve also tested the cable supplied with the monitor: no signal.

It seems, that the HDMI output does not support high resolutions, but the USB-C works well.
It’s ok for me.
