Permalink to specific ISO

I frequently need to link to a specific installation ISO for bug reproduction purposes. Although I can say that I’m using cpe:/o:opensuse:tumbleweed:20240125, that’s not much use if nobody knows how to test that specific version.

I see lots of .iso files at https://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/iso/ and subfolders of http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/, but I don’t seem to be able to find any way to correlate the version to the ISO, and it seems like there are hundreds of mostly unrelated packages dumped into there. Without the ability to connect via FTP or WebDAV, I don’t know how to even begin to locate what I’m searching for.

Does anyone know where to look? I expect old versions are retained (even if not strictly indefinitely).

@rokejulianlockhart current is always, well the current snapshot;
https://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/iso/openSUSE-Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-Current.iso

Then history for the repository;
https://download.opensuse.org/history/20240125/tumbleweed/repo/

Current is the only one, there are no iso images retained. Best download them to your local machine on release… Or use btrfs snapshot to rollback…

Edit; Perhaps tumbleweed-cli will suffice?

To summarise, @malcolmlewis, historical ISOs aren’t retained, but the compiled packages are, hence https://download.opensuse.org/history/20240125/tumbleweed/repo/? If my comprehension is correct, that’s adequate. Thank you.

Additionally, do you expect that if I made a request to store past ISOs at Bugzilla, that would be denied due to storage concerns?

@rokejulianlockhart very much so, recent posts on IRC indicates $HOME user images may be blocked soon…

Find someone in your locale (University/ISP etc) that could set up a mirror for them…

Turns out that using the “Pick Mirror” context menu entry at openSUSE Tumbleweed - Get openSUSE

image

allows the user to visit https://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/iso/openSUSE-Tumbleweed-NET-x86_64-Snapshot20240417-Media.iso?mirrorlist.

This is where the user can copy https://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/iso/openSUSE-Tumbleweed-NET-x86_64-Snapshot20240417-Media.iso, or simply copy the ?mirrorlink URI and remove that flag.
