pdflatex not found in YaST2

I’ve tried here too:

software.opensuse.org: Search Results

Result:

No packages found in the openSUSE build service that matched your query.

How to install it? It’s a deprecated package?

Best,

Manuel

pdflatex is contained in texlive-bin-latex which is in the standard
repositories.

Thanks.
It’s weird that YaST2 don’t see it, since I’ve searched in descriptions too.

I think you have to search in “file list” to find it with a search for “pdflatex”.

Searching for the file in yast does only work for installed packages.

A simple trick is to type in a terminal “cnf pdflatex” (without “”) and it
will tell you which package to install, works of course only for
executables.

Except if you use the webpin yast module.

This works again?

AFAIK, there are two webpins. One, the old one, independent of SUSE, does
not work. The other, the YaST one, I think it works, but doesn’t poll the
same servers.

But I have checked it now and it doesn’t work. Maybe I’m wrong an both poll
the same server.

Some packages are computed and you can always try ticking the provides box on the Yast search.

AFAIK Yast-webpin still does not work in 11.4. Anyone try it in 12.1??

I heard it does not work. The problem is in the server, it is overloaded
with so many packages in the OBS. They have to rework it and have little
volunteer time.

I thought the YaST version only looked at the OBS and the community version
looked at that, plus packman and videolan.
