I have a fully updated Tumbleweed install. I have pan installed from the opensuse repository. If there is no .pan2 directory, pan will start. If I quit, the try to start it crashes with:
~> pan
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name news.pan.NZB was not provided by any .service files
**
ERROR:pan-tree.cc:80:GtkTreeIter PanTreeStore::get_iter(const PanTreeStore::Row*): assertion failed: (row)
Aborted (core dumped)
Can anyone tell me what this may be or how to check it out?

I’d be inclined to start by checking out the news.pan.NZB file - IIRC,
that’s not a normal part of the pan distribution.
According to posts in various forums, news.pan.NZB is not a problem, even though it generates an error. tasks.NZB has also been mentioned. When I deleted it, pan did start once, but no longer does.

When pan does start, what version does it say it is?
That version should work - I build and use 0.140 on 13.2 here.
You probably want to file a bug - I ran 0.139 on 13.1 and 13.2 for a
while, and didn’t run into this issue, so the maintainer probably needs
to know there’s an issue on Tumbleweed.

No problem. bugzilla.opensuse.org would be the appropriate place for the
openSUSE project. It’s probably something specific to Tumbleweed, but
you might reference the GNOME bugzilla bug in the one for openSUSE’s
bugzilla so they see that report as well.
I looked into bugzilla.opensuse.org. When I tried to file a bug, Tumbleweed was not on the product list. Do I list Factory as the product and list Tumbleweed in the report?

I would use Factory and then note in the description that it’s tumbleweed.
