Is it possible to create or get a minimal iso of OpenSuse like the centos minimal iso so that i can use it for testing some application before moving it to producation on SLES servers
I know that Network installer iso is there and also we have an option to install a minimal server in OpenSuSe installer. but would realy like to know whether there is a way to get a Minimal ISO.
SUSE Studio is an online Linux image creation tool by SUSE. Users can develop their own Linux OS, software appliance or virtual appliance, mainly choosing which applications and packages they want on their “custom” Linux and how it looks.
Well, JeOS is based on SUSE Linux Enterprise. A version based on openSUSE is available here: https://susestudio.com/a/R8DAbW/limejeos
Have you tried that already? Is this what you are looking for?
I just downloaded the ISO image and it boots fine in VirtualBox.
But that’s just a LiveCD. If you want to install it, you’d have to download one of the other options (USB & disk image, preload ISO/image)

You can do a minimal “install” using openSUSE DVD.
Hi
A bit risky testing on openSUSE and assuming it will run on a SLES system? Many of the core system components are not anywhere near openSUSE 13.1.
Why not build a SLES jeOS on SUSE Studio, it does add the installer option. Else just use the SLES DVD, you can configure as required to get to a minimal install, you will probably also need the SDK as well for any development packages.
