openSUSE Leap issue with Nvidia GeForce GTX 750ti

Hi!

Recently, I installed openSUSE Tumbleweed on my computer which has Nvidia GeForce GTX 750ti. In the installation, I faced few problems. When I hit the Installation in the installation menu, it goes black screen and ‘no signal’. I edited the conf by pressing ‘e’ and appending nomodeset, and it works. But the display is too large, and has problem connecting to internet. I asked the forum and yet haven’t found any fix on it.

After few disto hopping, I found Manjaro to works well, in the installation it selected install with proprietary drivers and it works, from display, to the usb wifi adaptors’ driver.

But then, as I really like to try out openSUSE. I tried to install it once again. I chose Leap, as I prefer to not have updating too frequent that could break the system. I like stability and focus more on stuffs I like to do. I also hoping that Leap might fix the issues that Tumbleweed can’t offer.

Once I installed Leap, I got that black screen and no signal again. So, I added nomodeset as usual. Leap fixed the driver issue on my usb wifi adaptor but the screen resolution is still too large. I don’t really have that much knowledge on fixing it.

I hope someone give a helping hand on this matter.

Thank youu in advance!!

I followed this installation of proprietary driver for NVIDIA: SDB:NVIDIA drivers - openSUSE Wiki
It always throw me this specific error along with other errors and it won’t proceed to install:

Empty destination in URI: hd:/?device=/dev/disk/by-id/dm-name-ventoy

is it related to how I installed the OS? I used ventoy on my usb stick to install Leap.

Same solution as in this thread:

that removed the ventoy error but I can’t still proceed due to this another error:

sudo zypper install openSUSE-repos-Leap-NVIDIA

@bochard if you run zypper -vvv ref -f to add some verbosity and force a refresh of the repositories.

You do understand the 15.6 is in beta???
