OpenSuse + KDE Plasma missing display settings

Hello dear Community,

yesterday I installed Tumbleweed with the KDE Plasma desktop. I miss the display settings, that I saw on a lot of screenshots.

For me there are just the absolute basic settings shown:

I am new to Linux in general, maybe there is a simple solution, that I don’t know, yet.

What I did so far:
→ Reinstall Tumbleweed
→ Check if “Kscreen6” is installed with YaST

Hardware:
→ AMD 7900xtx
→ Monitor Dell AW3423DW (Supports VRR, HDR…)
→ Connected via DisplayPort

I am looking for the VRR and HDR settings. HDR isn’t necessary, but VRR is important to me.

Thank you!

Regards

You forgot to show what you expected.

Hey,
I expected something like this:

Do you have the second monitor?

No, I only have one monitor. This is a screenshot of someone elses settings. I am looking for the Adaptive Sync / VRR feature settings.

And what prevented you from asking what you wanted to know from the very beginning instead if letting others to squeeze it out of you?

Anyway - you are apparently using X11 (you did not tell it either) and to my best knowledge these settings are available only with Wayland.

Thanks for letting me know, I will have a look into this. I don’t know what X11 and Wayland are and will investigate this.

Btw - I literally wrote in my first post “I am looking for the VRR and HDR settings. HDR isn’t necessary, but VRR is important to me.”

Log out, select wayland in the bottom left corner and log in again. Then open the monitor settings.

Know it works, thank you all for the fast help!

ILL VRR works with X11 after editing conf files:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Variable_refresh_rate

To get english output try to use

LANG=C systemsettings6

Yes true. I tried the config file too, but had the following problem:
It is set to always on and in normal, not fullscreen use, the display is flickering. So the Wayland works better for me right now! But thank you for your input!

ILL monitor has G-SYNC chip, usable with Nvidia’s cards:

G-SYNC ULTIMATE

Features the top NVIDIA G-SYNC processors to deliver the very best gaming experience, including lifelike HDR, stunning contrast, cinematic color, and ultra-low latency gameplay.

The solution belongs to arvidjaar.

Have a lot of fun!
