Attached image is as far as it goes, then waits to do what ?
Turned on computer openSUSE Leap 15.6 yesterday and it failed to log me in.
Restarted today, after updates, rebooted and still unable login…
Am able to use back up computer to log into 7400K-hx152 and able to do updates.
No sure what is relevent… or what to do next ?
Not sure if these two are relevent…

I assume that you’re using GDM display manager? Do you usually just use autologin to start the Gnome Wayland session, or manual login?
Show the results of sudo systemctl status display-manager
Can you get a working X11 session if you edit ‘/etc/gdm/custom.conf’ with
WaylandEnable=false
and reboot?
BTW was up and out most of today, unfortunately same tomorrow.

As mentioned in the gdm.service output, check the Xorg log for more information about why the X-server is failing here. Hopefully, others can add further info here, as I thought GDM usually starts via a Wayland session these days.
