Ah, picking on the few of us is the new thing :D. Well we love being pathetic people
No Swede, we have just as good lines as the Dutch. My idea is that if we with fast lines can get the stuff faster we can help by immediatly seeding it to those downloading via the torrent.
Works as it should. Thanks.
I have both the 32- and 64-bit running now (and seeding them for the needed;) )
Will be about 30 mins for both together, butI will let the seeding go on.
The md5 checksums I will get later.
Your flexibility is admirable.
Yes, and I’m doing my bit by not downloading directly today and probably not for a month or more, depending on how the dist-upgraded RC1 to Final holds up. Oh there was already a couple of small new updates downloaded earlier today. Have fun with your seed.
I got both te 32-bit and the 64 bit DVD together in half an hour downloaded. Does not look like they are throttling the Dutch.
What? Really::\ It took me at least an hour or so here just for the 64bit. It seems like we probably started seeding at around the same time, can you do me a favor and tell me what your share ratio currently is on the 64 bit? We have notoriously slow uploads here (sounds like downloads too) and was wanting to compare.
DVD image is next thing to useless… 4,7GB means it cannot fit on standard blank DVD media.
I do not know what the exact size of a DVD is (in GB or Gib?), but this is what I downloaded:

On he 64-bit it is 0.68 ATM.
I do not want to make you jealous, but I have Fiber to the Home. Upload speed for both together ~500 KiB/s ATM.

This was an issue with the RC2 ISO (won’t fit on a DVD+R, will fit on a
DVD-R).
This was fixed for the release.

Hi
Build 110 fitted fine on a DVD-RW, wound up using imagewriter to put it
onto an 8GB USB key, then did an EFI install… all working fine.

lol! Yeah well maybe I am a little jealous I am getting about 150 KiB/s up from my place here and about 400 KiB/s down.
Not bad. Many would like to have that. And apart from a day like today I do not need the up spead. I also must add that our TV is using the same fiber, thus eating some of it’s performance (when someone in the house watches).
I’m one of the fortunate to have good/fast bandwidth. I’ve installed 12.3 on 3 different PC’s thus far, and posted about it in the ‘chit-chat’ forum are here (since I am not looking for help on this hardware): https://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/community-fun/general-chit-chat/484200-some-opensuse-12-3-experiences-different-hardware.html

There are many standards. The problem existed at RC2 with +R DVDs (-R
were OK) but is now OK with the official release. I’ve just had a
successful install of 12.3 x86_64 using +RW DVD.

openSUSE 12.3-RC2 (64-bit); KDE 4.10.00; AMD Phenom II X2 550 Processor;
Video: nVidia GeForce 210 (using nouveau driver);
Sound: ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA); Wireless: BCM4306
openSUSE-12.3-DVD-x86_64.iso aka openSUSE-12.3-DVD-Build0110-x86_64.iso (4691329024 bytes)
fits easily on both a DVD-R (capacity 4706074,624 bytes) and a DVD+R (capacity 4700372992 bytes).
4.7GB = 4 700 000 bytes = c. 4.482GiB

dd
It will fit…
The ISO that I downloaded was 4.22 GB, so it’s got plenty of room on a 4.35 GB DVD.
But seriously, it’s time to upgrade to Blu-ray. I stopped writing information to DVDs about two years ago.
The DVD does not fit on a dvd+r it fits on a dvd-r also you can dd to a thumb drive
