On opensuse 12.3 KDE the cursor when logged in is different from the one at the login screen. (Specifically, Oxygen White after logged in, and some old Gnomish cursor at the login screen). Is there a way to make the login screen use the system’s cursor (Oxygen White) Or to define the cursor theme for the login screen theme?
Yes.
You can configure the mouse cursor globally in /etc/sysconfig/windowmanager, look for the variable X_MOUSE_CURSOR.
You can edit that file with any text editor you like (note that you need to have root permissions), or use YaST->System->“/etc/sysconfig Editor” (option Desktop->X_MOUSE_CURSOR).
If you want Oxygen White, you should set that variable to “Oxygen_White”.
This setting applies to ALL users (so it is even used on the login screen), but is overridden by each user’s desktop settings.
