openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 4 + ati radeon 9200 trouble

I have a trouble again while running live kde cd (openSUSE-KDE4-LiveCD-Build0180-i686.iso) or installing from dvd (openSUSE-DVD-Build0180-i586.iso) with ati radeon 9200.
After it’s starting, the screen of lcd monitor turning off (like sleep mode) and nothing else. This happens from version 11.0 (On versions 10.2 and 10.3 all works fine)

Do you actually get to the choices screen, boot from drive, install,
repair… etc?

If so press IIRC F2 or F3 and choose text install, you will get an ncurses
version which works, I have just been through this with an Nvidia card (
7300le PCIE ) the install would crash loading the kernel after selecting a
normal install no matter what res or even a vesa.

If that does not work then not sure yet as I have to re-install again on my
sand box as it put the 32bit on instead of 64bit DOH!

I am trying choose variouse vga mode, also trying vesa mode. It’s all not working. Only text mode. How install in normal vga mode?

If you have the same prob as me then I could not, the installer would crash
loading the kernel.

You will have to use the text install, it is not as pretty as the gui/vga
but it worked for me.

Ok. Today I’m try to install in text mode. After that maybe sax2 -r -m 0=vesa can help me
But Can anyone say to OpenSuse Team to fix this problem?

PS: Sorry for my English.

If you believe it a bug, you can submit a bug report, with guidance here:

If I get time today I will be attempting to get the 64bit version installed
and will file a bug if it happens on that as well ( some blind berk*
installed the 32bit instead even though the iso definitely d/loaded as 64bit
DOH!)
