Fascinating development - installed OpenSuse 11.1 on my WinXP desktop, all went smoothly, allowed OpenSuse to manage partitions (2x250mb drives, WinXP on C, various programs and files on D, NOT RAID), boot menu gives me Suse, Windows or “other Linux” options, I chose Windows and it failed to boot (MBR boot error msg?), I then chose “Other Linux” and voila, WinXP booted, albeit with a couple of minor errors.
I assume this is editable, where I could edit “Windows” to actually boot WinXP and then remove the “Other Linux” option? I have no intention of running a different Linux so it’s an unnecessary option.
I’m a neophyte so please keep it simple, still learning Linux.
Run Yast (yast) then go to (I think) System: Boot Loader.
Good luck.
