OpenSuse 11.1 CD Companion Disk

On the CD there are folders of packages.

i586 is obviously packages for Pentium 4+ systems.
But what are these folders:

noarch src nosrc?

They are folders containing packages. Is src simply source? Then what are the other two?

Thanks.

Hi

  1. noarch generally don’t contain binary files eg perl, python
    scripts etc
  2. src are the source, patches and spec file used to build the rpm.
  3. nosrc are just patches and spec files but due to some restriction
don’t contain the source tarball, you need to locate and add yourself
    and build your own rpms.
