Trying to install Open Xchange Server “Back end / Appsuite” on the same Suse 13.2 box.
although a few references available, none of them seems to have a complete / detailed steps to achieve the goal of full installation.
Any Idea where / how to install OX on OpenSuse 13.2?
Hi
Normally add the repository and install the items you require…
zypper ar -f http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/OX:/appsuite:/backend/openSUSE_13.2/ "open-xchange"
zypper ref
zypper in <which every rpms are required>
Thanks again, I did the zypper stuff, now yum is not updating, it responds with error:
Loaded plugins: product-id, subscription-manager
This system is not registered to Red Hat Subscription Management. You can use subscription-manager to register.
There are no enabled repos.
Run "yum repolist all" to see the repos you have.
You can enable repos with yum-config-manager --enable

Hi
Why using yum? What repositories do you have active that require
subscription to redhat?
zypper lr -d

repo 9 is referencing a 13.1 version. You can not mix version. Remove what ever it was you installed from there and remove the repo It will break things
Repo 8 is your install media it should be disabled or removed. or else you need to pug it in any time you update
Ok, lets drop the yum issue for now, and continue with our main topic, Open Xchange, as long as malcolmlewis](https://forums.opensuse.org/member.php/740-malcolmlewis) was the only responding guy, now lets see how many guys will be responding.
Somewhere I read that it’s perfectly fine to use yum, but before doing so should recognize the following…
openSUSE supports 3 types of repositories, RPM being one of them. But I haven’t read anything to suggest that YUM would support more than just RPM repos.
YUM tools for me used to be in the openSUSE OSS, haven’t checked that for a long time.
YUM’s local repo database is different (also revealed by your error) so won’t track installs and dependencies incorporating info from zypper and yast so could create conflicts with zypper/yast (which do use the same local repo package info).
So, it should make sense that although YUM can be used sparingly to install something, it shouldn’t be used for updating (unless you specify the package).
As long as you’re on an openSUSE system, you should use zypper or YAST and you’ll find that zypper is very easy and powerful and very intuitive, probably far easier than YUM.
You’ve already run commands that add and list your configured repos To update your packages (not upgrade the system) to latest stable you only need to run the following
zypper update
You can abbreviate the “update” with “up.”
Like other modern “languages” zypper syntax is largely based on natural language constructs, ie noun-adjective, verb-adverb.
As always you can display brief command line usage with
Many thanks for all who contributed in this thread. OX “Opepn Xchange” has Back end server, and App suite, I am trying to install the Back end, -from scratch- I have read the documentation “OX6-Installation-and-Administration-v6.20.1.pdf” which I followed but was not successful due to many issues, one of them the LDB account, in addition to the documentation on this url “OX6:Open-Xchange Installation Guide for SLES11 622 - Open-Xchange”, which also requires a valid maintenance subscription as well.
the issue here, is it really required to have Suse EL to begin the installation? or I can install on OpenSuse 13.2 ?
