open suse 10.0 primary domain controller setup

I need to set up a domain controller that can communicate with windows machines as well as be accessable by the domain name and allow me to log in to the domain from my windows machines. i do have the novells guide to compTIA linux+ book but i cant figure out what i need to do to set up this server in the way i described above.
i have searched the internet for the past week trying to figure this out and i have not been able to find anything explaining specifically what i need to do. any and all help on this will be greatly appreciated

openSUSE 10.0 is obsolete and no longer maintained.

Or perhaps you have SUSE Linux Enterprise, ie, SLED/SLES? Then these are
the wrong forums.

i am positive that it is 10.0. i am using this version for a class assignment and most of the versions of linux im using for class is not the current version. i do know quite a bit about linux but i use a different distro for my personal computer and i have not created a linux domain controller before and my teacher is having us find the information for the assignment.

10.0 of what?

It is not clear if you have the enterprise version or the “open” version.

so, do your homework…(find the information in the documentation)…

asking us to hand you the answers is not you learning how to find, read,
learn and then administrate a back office operating system…

see?
