@conram nice
How is ashell running?
Hi, my “printi-scrinki” from testing PhotoCraft… my whole world just collapsed…
I do not know what to think… what is going to be next move from Adobe?
What consequences…?
@malcolmlewis Thanks, ashell is running alright, remember It wasn’t running perfect in labwc before but now it is working fine.
I just move to the lua config in hyprland. Any thoughts on a shortcut key to open the applauncher?
@conram you mean for ashell?
For example with ranger, I have in hyprland.lua;
local menu = "ranger"
hl.bind(mainMod .. " + R", hl.dsp.exec_cmd(menu))
@Thor_Thenhammer What a fantastic wallpaper! Where did you get it?
I’ll be completely honest: Gemini. I just wanted a quick low-poly wallpaper with an openSUSE theme for my desktop.
If you want the wallpapers, I’ve uploaded them to Codeberg.
@Thor_Thenhammer really awesome art.
@malcolmlewis Got it working I have an existing install of fuzzel so it’s the one I used.
Just wondering what is that ashell applauncher
![]()
And one more question what is the right syntax for web browser in hyprland lua for adding a keybind
I can make it work but it creates a magic button beside the workspace button ![]()

Can we please not have AI generated images here? Or at least ( see Forums rules ) state that they are? Post those on platforms where that is common practice like f.e. Instagram, X and Tiktok? Otherwise this subforum becomes another AI battle.
Please do not use “art”. AI is not art. FULL STOP.
I hear ya
Thanks for reminding.
@conram
In hyprland.lua I use;
local browser = "google-chrome"
hl.bind(mainMod .. " + W", hl.dsp.exec_cmd(browser))
The ashell “applauncher” module calls nwg-drawer or what ever you like in the config.toml file.
[[CustomModule]]
name = "appLauncher"
icon = ""
command = "nwg-drawer"
That’s the same I did but gives me syntax error when I save, it work but as I said before it make that magic thing in ashell. ![]()
---------------------
---- MY PROGRAMS ----
---------------------
-- Set programs that you use
local terminal = "kitty"
local fileManager = "thunar"
local menu = "fuzzel"
local browser = "firefox"
Now I know, the default ashell applauncher here is nwg-drawer
Thanks
@Thor_Thenhammer Thanks for sharing! This is a case where AI can produce something worthwhile if given the right instructions ![]()
@knurpht I’m generally skeptical about AI too, but we’re sharing screenshots of desktops here, not the wallpapers themselves. The main thing, I suppose, is that the screenshots are real.
Hi again,
Just to make purists happy… ![]()
Wallpeper I’ve used, in my knowledge, is not AI generated. It’s ~12 years old, long pre public-AI times.
On the other hand, software - PhotoCraft, yes, it’s AI generated code. Do I use it? No. But my curiosity forced me to test it. I just have to know. ![]()
So @jsmith64’s KCometen6 on Tumbleweed…
Gnome Desktop (DELL Workstation);
Hyprland Laptop (MacBook Pro);
Gnome Desktop (HP Workstation)
@malcolmlewis The magic button is now gone. I made a mistake in choosing a keybind. Not really sure if the first key I used was valid
When I replace it with the F1 key the magic button didn’t show up anymore and the syntax error when saving the file did not show up.
