OBS Appliance - Failed to start LSB & Unable To Update

I am running OBS Appliance 2.8.2 based on openSUSE 42.2. When the appliance boots I get error “Failed to start LSB: Finds the storage device to be used for OBS server and/or worker.” I followed the setup instructions to create a LVM volume group with the name “OBS”. I can see the LVM group is in good shape. I have include systemctl dump of status obsstoragesetup.service below. In addition when I try to run “zypper up” I get Error Code: Write Error. I checked root drive and it is at 100% utilization. Before update process starts I get a notification stating my repository is outdated and should consider and update, should I be looking at changing repo? At this point being that my OBS LVM is on a separate storage drive should I just reinstall with the latest appliance image?

After a reboot of my appliance, the drive utilization went down to 88%. It does not look like an update is possible with such a small root partition being that I need over 500 updates. I attempted upgrading appliance by applying 2.8.4 image while retaining my storage volume, but I ended up with an additional error on boot “Failed to start LSB: open build service source service server”. I have also posted to the mailing list under message https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-buildservice/2018-03/msg00009.html

I am gong to stay on version 2.8.2 as it is stable at the moment, it still shows the error called out, but does build packages fine. I was thinking I could upgrade to latest version by expanding root partition, or setting up a new appliance w/o my existing storage. However I would like ensure some safeguards are in place to avoid update issues in the future, maybe monthly OS update, etc…
