I’m one of the people affected by the black screen after sleep bug. My GPU is a GTX 1060 and I’m using x11.
570.124.04 did not solve the issue, and introduced an openGL bug into my system. Now anything using it wouldn’t start.
Downgrading to 570.86.16 went chaotically. I forced the downgrade through the gl-G06 package. Normally everything connected, including the video package, gets downgraded properly. But something new happened, these four new packages were installed:
And for some reason downgrading the gl package to 570.86.16 causes the video-G06 package to downgrade to 550 now, not the matching 570 beta. Okay, maybe those longterm kernels would somehow allow the mixing?
Nope. No GUI after the recommended downgrade, I had to manually downgrade the video package to the correct 570 driver for it to start.
I didn’t try downgrading everything to 550 yet to see if those longterm packages solve an issue I’m having that prevents me from downgrading to that version, spent enough time this morning already trying the new driver this morning , but will do in the weekend.
But things changed with driver >= 570. Now firmware is located in nvidia-common-G06 which is getting installed once nvidia-compute-utils-G06 gets installed.
