Nvidia driver won't install

I had the nvidia driver 570.124.04 installed and I saw that 570.133.07 was available, so I restarted and went into runlevel 3 and ran the installer for 570.133.07. When I chose the gpl license my screen went blank and the OSD said there was no signal. So I ran the installer for 570.124.04 with the --uninstall option and my screen went blank again with no signal.

Now there is no nvidia driver installed and I’m unable to install another one. Any idea what’s going on here?

@pilotgi Hi you need to provide more details, how about inxi -GSaz to start with…

I ran dracut -f --regenerate-all and rebooted and I was able to install the 570.133.07 driver. So everything is good, I just don’t understand what caused the problem in the first place.
