By go nowhere, I mean you boot to a blank, black screen. It is pretty much as if I had not added the user to the video group - except that you do not even seem to have a terminal. I did not investigate the matter too thoroughly to see what was going on. Rather, I rebooted and, using the low graphics desktop option, fixed the problem by trying the G02 version, which, as I noted, worked.
I am not familiar with kscreen. If that is a way to have the most up to date graphics card driver, I would be interested in knowing where I can find out about it. On the other hand, I have to say that, with the G02 driver, things are running really quite well but, one way or another, at least having the ability to use the G03 driver seems like something to know about so any assistance you might provide would be greatly appreciated.
