hey, its my first time on opensuse, i had followed the tutorial on nvidia driver installation, and when i went to install 470xx drivers, or G05 drivers it gave me one of those file conflicts, like a idiot i ignored it and now it just doesnt work? i have installed nviida packages, nvidia smi does not see anything, inix -g says n/a drivers, yet mod info states my 470xx drivers. does anyone have a clue? secure boot is disabled btw and is furthermore verified by the dmesg output, and btw there is no nvidia inside the dmesg output

Hm, not sure why it does not work.
i have the nvidia server x applications, yet they dont open. so im wondering if i should just reinstall opensuse?
Likely suse-prime and bbswitch are installed, so you could try prime-select nvidia. It all depends on the hardware setup as well…
Can you show the output from lsgpu is your user a member of the video and renderer groups?
Since you running Plasma, adding a /etc/environment and setting the KWIN_DRI_DEVICES variable may help (need to see above output).
Edit: I do notice no nouveau blacklist entry in kernel boot options… rd.driver.blacklist=nouveau

So the driver is not installed, press ctrl+alt+FI to get to a tty. Login as root user and then;
systemctl isolate multi-user.target

I have a similar setup, but only use the nouveau driver…
