NVidia driver cause openSUSE 11.0 become bold

After nvidia (from repo) is installed, the fresh 11.0 shows up with bold fonts in desktop, taskbar, etc. This is really ugly to see these fat letters :sick:
You can return to normal with Control Center (I’m KDE3), just turn the font size from 10 to 9. but this is not a good solution because in some applications the default font size still pull out the bloated shape.
Is this a problem NVidia didn’t solve?

My details might be useful: ThinkPad T61p laptop with Quadro FX 570M, 14.1 LCD runs 1400x1050, openSUSE 11.0 for x86_64.

Any hint would appreciated.

Try a different theme. I too have noticed the nvidia driver can cause a change in the font appearance.

For me with KDE3 I prefer Theme=Plastik, Widget Style=Plastik, GTKStyle = Clearlook. Play a bit, I think it quite likely with a bit of perseverance, you will be able to tune it to be just as good, if not better, than what you had before. That was the case for me.

I also ensured that I had qtcurve for kde3 installed. I think that is installed by default for KDE3 in openSUSE-11 but I had to install it specifically for openSUSE-10.2 and 10.3.
