I doubt it. My ISP most certainly do not support IPv6, an old router, yet I
have IPv6 active. My network printer (HP) advertises IPv6 and linux sees it

  • I found that two days ago with ntop. The problem should be routing or DNS.

I’ve no idea how to setup IPv6 in the printer, though. It is appearing at
ff02::fb, ff02::1:2 and a few others. I don’t even know how to enter such
an address in firefox, it rejects “http://ff02::1:2” and tries to google it
instead.

http://ff02::1:2 → restricted (“This address uses a network port which is
normally used for purposes other than Web browsing. Firefox has canceled
the request for your protection.”)

http://ff02::fb → google search. Ah, that’s a multicast address, perhaps
the printer advertising itself?

Ah, ok, the printer is “FE80::21E:BFF:FE08:4CCB”. But it also does not work
with FF, it googles it instead. But “ping6 -I eth0
FE80::21E:BFF:FE08:4CCB” works, the address is correct.

If the problem for others is DNS, it may be because I have bind running
locally.

I’m having the same problem.
It just seems odd that all the internet browsers can connect without issue but YAST cannot,
I’m sure its something I’m doing or have not done but there must be a solution somewhere

The solution in this thread was to disable ipv6. Try it.

Best regards,
Greg

I’m beginning to suspect there is something wrong on the opensuse side because the object in the link below does not exist

http://download.opensuse.org/debug/distribution/11.3/repo/oss/repodata/repomd.xml’:

BUT you can get as far as the link below

Index of /debug/distribution/11.3/repo/oss

I have done that, if fact, it was the first thing I did

My IPV6 was already disabled.

I have solved this by running yast2 from the terminal and correcting the software repositories that was messed by the upgrade from 11.2 to 11.3.

Wrong repo definition on your side.

Execute “zypper lr --details” and post the result here using code tags

I have the same problem: not access to Internet by browser Firefox version 3.6. 6 for openSuSe 11.3 but I have access to my internet service provider.
Note: I have full access to Internet with browser Opera 11.00 build 1156.
Question: What can I do with settings for Firefox 3.6.6 that resolve this problem?
How to make browser Opera 11.00 default system browser?

My PC is notebook Sony VAIO VGN-AR770U
OS is openSuSe 11.3 x86_64.

Best regards!
