Hello. I have no sound in onboard speakers, but it works with bluetooh headphones. I am using a HP Envy laptop (Core Ultra 7) with Leap 15.6 Plasma. I have installed the package sof-firmware but id didn’t help. I copy the output of inxi -Aa and hwinfo --sound
`Inxi -Aa

Thank you in advance.
Do you have ‘pavucontrol’ installed? If so, run the GUI application and check the current profile via the ‘Configuration’ tab to make sure that you your preferred device is accessible.
You could also show us the results from
pactl list sinks | egrep -i "output|active"
BTW, when posting commands and output, please use the pre-fomatted text button ‘</>’.

Thanks. Pavucontrol does not find output or input devices. This is the output of pactl:
pactl list sinks | egrep -i “output|active”
Name: bluez_output.00_1B_66_E9_64_95.1
Monitor Source: bluez_output.00_1B_66_E9_64_95.1.monitor

Sorry. Pavucontrol shows high fidelity playback when bluetooth headphones are connected.
Ok, then we need to run the alsa-info.sh diagnostic script as described here…
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Audio_troubleshooting#Script_to_run_to_obtain_detailed_information
Post the link that it generates here.
BTW, a similar topic here (same chipset):
This driver isn’t loaded in the second “non-working” situation.
Specifically, you will need to use a more recent kernel:

I tried a live snapshot of Tumbleweed because I thought the problem could be the kernel, but it didn’t work,
That approach might not work if the firmware is not present though. I still recommend trying the current stable kernel with your Leap 15.6 install.
The diagnostic script confirms not recognized by the current kernel…

OK. Thank you very much. As I always listen to music with headphones, it is not really a major problem. I will wait for a stable kernel that recognizes the soundcard.
Unlikely to be resolved with Leap 15.6 updates. You’ll need to make a proactive effort yourself.

Any suggestions ? should I look for a recent version of alsa-firmware?
Did you try the suggestion to use a more recent kernel (post #8 )?

Yes. I did something wrong, I could not boot the system and finally reinstalled.
