No KDE login after install

In case other people hit this: I downloaded openSUSE-MicroOS-DVD-x86_64-Snapshot20250702-Media.iso and selected “kalpa” on boot, and only changed the timezone and hostname in the installer. On reboot no KDE login came up, just the terminal. Long story short, /etc/systemd/system/display-manager.service was a sym link to /usr/lib/systemd/system/display-manager-legacy.service, and apparently that doesn’t work, so if you run the following you should be good:

sudo systemctl disable display-manager
sudo systemctl enable sddm

Thank you. Just did a Kalpa install from Agama 16 installer (VM) and had the same issue. This fix worked a charm

Thank you for this info. Hope this will be fixed soon. We was unlucky to have it reviewed by Distrowatch now when we had this problem. I love both Kalpa and Aeon.

It’s being worked on, just taking longer than expected. Kalpa is still presented in an Alpha state for a reason, due to some stuff still moving around like this

I use Aeon on my laptop and Kalpa on my main machine. I’m very happy with both.
