I see that the ifconfig command (and probably all other deprecated net commands) has been removed from Tumbleweed with the latest upgrades.
This is fine: I can learn to use the “ip” comand.
The problem is that there are scripts out there that rely on ifconfig being available. One example is the “vmware-config-tools.pl” script included with the VMware tools for Linux.
I am not very fluent in perl, so I cannot patch the script to use ip instead of ifconfig.
I tried to google around to see if someone had written a script to imitate ifconfig using ip, but it seems noone did.
Can someone help with my problem?
