No Desktop Environment :(

Hi

Ive installed Suse 11 last week on a Nexoc Osiris 622 and all worked well so far.

But after I tried to use the graphical updater (Gnome/ KDE) the only environment I can use is textmode or Ice WM (and I don’t like Ice WM).

KDE 3.5 and Gnome freeze a few minutes after login.

On a previous installation on the same hardware it worked. Win XP works without problems.

Can somebody help me?

Well,

generelly, we must know which process kills the system. so we should first monitor the system, you could echo the dmesg in to an file and tell us which process finally fails, and maybe an overview over the /var/log files would be helpful
