No color printing with OpenSuSe 13.2

Hi I have just installed OpenSuSe 13.2 and configured an Epson NX230 printer. It prints OK but only in greyscale. :frowning:
The /etc/cups/printers.conf file shows that it’s configured as a color printer:

I have tried looking for similar threads but so far no info. Please can anyone give me some help? The printer is printing color OK on Windoze…

I think you might be using the generic driver (although I’m not sure why that doesn’t print colour). If you haven’t done so already, it might be worth trying the full-featured driver

http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/

epson-inkjet-printer-201108w (32-bit or 64-bit as appropriate)

Then reconfigure via YaST or the CUPS web interface

Hope that helps.

Hi again. Unfortunately no result. I have installed the epson-inkjet-printer-201108w driver and the results are the same - weird…:\

Just to clarify further, when you installed the driver, did you then reconfigure CUPS (ie select that particular driver)? I have to ask, since many new users make assumptions about the steps required, and/or leave us to guess what they did or didn’t do.

It is probably also worth reviewing this troubleshooting guide (re black and white printing)
