NFS Client don't see NFS Server

Hi.

I’m having an strange issue with antoher system here.

NIS server installed and running ok between the server and one test client. I configured the NFS server and client accordingly to https://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/leap/reference/html/book.opensuse.reference/cha.nfs.html however, it does not work and I can’t see the test directory on the client. To be fair, the client do not even see the server at all: I had to input its IP address and directory it provides by hand. There is no firewall (uninstalled by hand).

I know I have to give a lot of more information so that someone can help me, but nfs was always so straighforward that I don’t actually know which commands would be useful. The few commands (client side) that I could manage were:

/sbin/yast2 view_anymsg '/var/log/messages' &

Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

Hi,

can you verify that you can reach the nfs-server (is this the correct ip address of the nfs-server)?

ping 192.168.1.12

On the nfs-server run

systemctl status nfs-server

If the service is up and running, execute

showmount -e

to see what is exported. If everything seems ok until here, try mounting by hand and paste the output:

mount -t nfs 192.168.1.12:/teste /teste

Maybe this reveals what’s wrong there.

Thanks for the prompt reply, eblock!

Ok, on server (192.168.1.12) side, I’m getting really big “opsies” here:

So, I was completely wrong and whatever the problem is, it seems to reside on the server side.

However, I’m still totally unaware of what is going on: Can someone please help me? :frowning:

Thanks a lot in advance

There is probably something important in your logs prior to what you’ve posted.

A <possible> hint is that your posted log ends with a series of sntp errors.

Verify your time server resolution and services are working properly…
Or, configure something different than how you’re configured now.

TSU

Thank you both.

That did the trick: there was a problem with the ntp server I was using. Just changed it, and voi-lá!

Sorry for taking your time with such a small issue, and thanks a lot for all help!

Thanks again!
