After the previous update on slowroll. New user created could not logon, as if the password is wrong. but change the login screen where you have to enter the username and password manually it works, problem with username picker, maybe taking the caps letter of username or trouble with PAM.
if you created the new user successfully, it should show in SDDM ( the login screen ). Click on the new user and use the password you created. And …linux is casesensitive, i.e. knurpht != Knurpht. Let us know how you created the user.
What you can do as your user is:
sudo passwd <new_user> , it asks for your password.
You will be then asked to enter the password for the <new_user> twice, and get a confirmation on success.
password is correct but the user picker is the trouble if I switch my login screen to say maldives where I have to enter both username and password it will log me in. Not selecting the user graphically then it won’t.
I don’t mess with SDDM theming. It’s known these are often breaking things. If it works with the default, then there IMHO is no issue.
the default is the breeze and the opensuse breeze which are not working… thats why I mentioned it here.
