This morning i update the system, and FF was updated from 3.02 to 3.03. But after restarting it, it gives me this error:
Error launching browser window:no XBL binding for browser
The button is also not visible to close the msg dialog box.
Anyone experience this?
Thanks
The problem is probably related to an extension.
Your easiest solution might be to view hidden files in /home/username*
find .mozilla/firefox
and re-name to firefoxOLD
when you start FF again it should create a new /firefox folder
you can import settings from firefoxOLD gradually, or just start again
I followed your instructions, but still the same error msg.
I googled and got this
Error launching browser window:no XBL binding for browser - Web Surfing
Only it’s dealing with a windows environment.
Backup your bookmarks
they are in here
.mozilla/firefox/some random number.default
bookmarks.html
Uninstall FF
Delete the firefox folder in .mozilla
Re-install FF
try again
A strange thing.
I have followed what you said in the earlier post.
Re install it, but there is no folder in .mozilla. If i open FF from kicker menu, giving me the same error.
After typting in terminal:
mian@dhcppc2:~> firefox
mian@dhcppc2:~>
The following error popup in the form of msg dialog box as b4 it was.
Error launching browser window:no XBL binding for browser
go to
/home/mian/.
and any folders .mozilla - rename as .OLDmozilla
there must be a .mozilla folder
when you start FF again is should be as though it was your first time running, it will ask if you want to import bookmarks, the the licemce agreement…
Thanks for being with this post.
Nothing happened.
I guess that FF is insttaled as root.
Because i did what i can. still no solution.
You do understand what I mean when I say hidden /home (files and folders)??
You must change normal settings in your file browser to view/show hidden files.
You must have a folder for .mozilla
I know hidden folders. which is under view menu by clicking show hidden files. .mozilla was there.
I have sloved it.
How?
1- dont remove the .mozilla folder.
2- Also no need to remove any firefox folder.
3- Close FF, if open.if already closed. Then just kill the FF in the background, because it is still running in the background. You can kill it by using the RUN command.
4- open yast, uninstall it, And again re-install it.
5- and thats it. FF will work fine.
The main point here is to kill the FF process,
I was searching for solution for hours, but suddenly i think of to kill FF, if it is running. and it was running there. I killed that FF process.
Then un-installed it, and reinstall it. everyhting is working fine now.
Hope this will help someone.
