This weekend I made a prototype of a new opensuse.org homepage. My main goals are (1) making the advantages of openSUSE over other operating systems clearer and (2) doing a graphical refresh that makes openSUSE more attractive.
It’s still missing some things like a comparison between openSUSE’s different flavors, but it looks like this so far:
Do you think it’s worth further developing it? I’ve submitted the draft on GitHub but so far haven’t received any feedback on it.

You have obviously put a lot of work in to this but the title has nothing to do with openSUSE; it could apply to any number of distros. To promote openSUSE, you need a message clearly about openSUSE. What makes openSUSE outstanding should leap from the page.

Any suggestion for how we could capture the essence of openSUSE in about 3-5 words?
Personally I don’t mind if the title stays a little vague, since we have the six items below it explaining some of openSUSE’s advantages. At some point I considered the phrase “Embrace the chameleon”. I’m open to ideas though.
@john_hudson It should Leap and Tumble from the page

A quick glance - it looks good! I wonder if the display background could incorporate an openSUSE reference/logo etc?
I’ll think about a way to do something like that. I’ve considered replacing the screenshot graphic with a chameleon - either real-life or illustrated.
I still have to make the section about Tumbleweed, Leap, Slowroll, MicroOS etc. So I might incorporate a repeating texture into the section background containing something openSUSE-themed.
@pieterdd Could you join out Matrix instance (chat.opensuse.org) ? We have people discussing your design in our marketing:opensuse.org room. You can access with your openSUSE account that you are using here.

I was thinking the same thing because the page doesn’t mention the choices.
