Network installer keeps failing with 'No repository found' using USB tethering

Hi, I am trying to perform a network installation of openSUSE Tumbleweed using phone USB tethering, but the installer keeps getting stuck at ‘Loading Installation System (1/6)’ and eventually throws a ‘No repository found’ error. How can I fix this connection or repo issue?

RNDIS (required for USB tethering) is blacklisted due to security reasons in the kernel. Thus no internet connection an no repository found.

There are quite some threads regarding RNDIS, e.g.
