Need just one media player

None of several media players I have installed work to my satisfaction. SMplayer and VLC would be fine if they’d allow me to make multiple selections of videos to watch. As soon as I click on the first selection, it begins to play – even if I’m holding down the Ctrl key. I want to be able to hold the ctrl key and choose 10 or 15 music videos to have playing while I, say, cook. As it is, VLC and SMplayer will only play one at time.

How to change that? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

both have a playlist window you can drag files into.

I just tried that out with selections from the Beatles, Donna Summer, and Freddy Fender. Worked just fine. “Change is good.”
