Need assistance with VM setup

I have a question about what to do in the case that I need to set my network bridge configuration manually when installing kvm tools via YaST; I’m just trying to find a way to run multiple game clients simultaneously, one for each VM.

I tried reading the documentation earlier as linked by another post that had a similar issue to mine and am overwhelmed by the amount of things talked about; not sure where to actually look to solve my problem besides maybe section 34.4.3.1. I have little prior experience with VMs beyond a bit of use with Bluestacks and Virtualbox years back on a Windows machine; only just started to actually understand what hypervisors actually are today.

Use virt-manager. It is pretty similar to Vbox. You can simply use NAT for that.

I forgot but I think I should probably clarify just in case: when installing kvm tools in YaST, it stated specifically “NetworkManager is being used. Bridge configuration must be done manually.”; that’s why I was wondering about the network bridge earlier.

I am looking at virt-manager right now and it seems I’m not able to enable the qemu/kvm connection regardless if I double click or use the right-click dropdown. Can’t create a virtual network either in details as the buttons are greyed out as well assuming that’s what you were referring to by NAT.

It seems that a system reboot and adding my user to the libvirt group was all that was needed to fix the issue, thanks anyways.

Nice you got it sorted. And found YaMO ( Yet another Module Outdated ). Lesson: Do not use YaST anymore.
