It installs only 1 file:
/usr/lib/nautilus/extensions-1.0/libnautilus-main-menu.so
I can’t find ANY documentation and the package description is worthless.

Are you refering to the infamous “slab”, the default main menu?
nautilus-gnome-main-menu is not even installed by default. I installed it out of curiosity, but it does not seem to do anything. It does get loaded however …

You’re right. The package summary indicates that it’s the “The GNOME Desktop Menu.” On the Gnome site, this appears to be the right-click context menu on the desktop. I don’t have this package installed, though, so maybe this adds some items and functionality.
