nautilus-gnome-main-menu - what is it? what does it do?

Hello,

Does anyone know what this package is?

It installs only 1 file:

/usr/lib/nautilus/extensions-1.0/libnautilus-main-menu.so

I can’t find ANY documentation and the package description is worthless.

Thanks in advance …

It’s the desktop menu in Gnome launched by the ‘Computer’ button.

Hello,

Are you refering to the infamous “slab”, the default main menu?

nautilus-gnome-main-menu is not even installed by default. I installed it out of curiosity, but it does not seem to do anything. It does get loaded however …

The mystery continues …

You’re right. The package summary indicates that it’s the “The GNOME Desktop Menu.” On the Gnome site, this appears to be the right-click context menu on the desktop. I don’t have this package installed, though, so maybe this adds some items and functionality.

Hee hee …

I installed … uninstalled … installed …

If it adds functionality, I could not find it …
