So why does it’s dictionary flag “linux” as a spelling error? (I know it allows Linux…)

That’s really a non-sequitor - it doesn’t follow that because it’s OSS it
would recognise “linux” in its dictionary (though arguably, Linux is a
proper noun, so that may be why it’s flagged).
