Not sure if I get the German message but does the mozilla/openSUSE_11.4 repo has firefox 4.0 final release? The package in there is “MozillaFirefox-4.0.0-1.1.i586.rpm”.

Irgendwie ist auch die Nummerierung/Benennung der Versionen etwas verwirrend - offenbar nicht nur für mich, sondern vor allem auch für zypper und YaST>Software Manager oder für deren Backend libzypp:

Ich denke es wäre wohl sinnvoll, wenn es zu jedem Namen (ohne die Versionsnummer) jeweils nur ein Paket in einem Repostitory gäbe. Vielleicht kann man die 3.x-Versionen für 11.4 ja in ein eigenes Repository verschieben?

Aber sollte er nicht auch im Update Repository sein?
Ich glaube, die Version wird erst einmal extra openSUSE/Novell/SUSE GmbH Tests durchlaufen.
Schließlich wurde der ganze openSUSE Testzirkus (11.4 Milestone 1-6, 11.4 RC1-2, ca. 8 Monate) bislang mit anderen Versionen gemacht.
Wenn Du meinst, auf diese zusätzlichen Tests verzichten zu können bzw. die Tests von Mozilla für ausreichend hältst, magst Du überlegen, generell das Mozilla Repository einzutragen/einzubinden/zu abonnieren.
Vergleiche:
Aus den oben genannten Gründen würde ich dabei aber diesmal ausnahmsweise per 1-Klick-Methode vorgehen - ggf. kannst du danach ja noch die Priorität der verschiedenen Repositorys anpassen. Beachte aber la:prior=früher, der vordere, der erstere → Repositories mit der kleineren Zahl werden früher/eher beachtet…

So wie es hier gennat wurde:
openSUSE 11.4 currently ships beta 12 of Firefox 4.0 as the final release is not out yet but we will provide updates to our users as soon as improvements come available.
Vielleicht wegen Delta-RPM.
Hello Everyone,
I’m new to openSUSE. Just moved over after trying ubuntu. I’m trying to update firefox since I just installed suse11.4 and it seems to come with the beta12 version of firefox. I’ve added the mozilla repository shown in the earlier post, and even though I can see and download the .rpm through the browser, the search feature in YaST only shows the beta12 version for download.
Might this be because it takes time to update the list? I’m a big fan of using the GUI to install software, should I just wait? Should I just grab the .rpm and use delta-rpm to install it?

Hallo Martin. Du weißt nicht zufällig ob die Version auch irgenwann in den anderen repo’s auftauchen wird? Ich bin “Prehistoriker” und denke egoistischerweise and das 11.1 Evergreen repository. Und “Prehistoriker” haben, wie das so ist, Zeit. Aber man interessiert sich natürlich schon von Zeit zu Zeit für die “schöne neue Welt”.

Also in dem Mozilla Repository für 11.2 sehe ich für i586 ein (frisch eingetroffenes) entsprechendes Paket:

In dem Mozilla Repository für 11.1 sehe ich nur das “Branding”-Paket.
Auch im wohl entsprechenden Testrepository kann ich noch keinen Feuerfuchs vier-null sehen.
Auch im openSUSE Build Service (OBS) sehe ich nur Mozilla Firefox 3.6 für openSUSE 11.1:

Nach der Tabelle auf Evergreen 11.1 im en:wiki befinden sich aber auch noch gerade vier weitere Pakete in der Testphase, davon sind openssl und wohl auch java-1_6_0-openjdk sicherheitsrelevant.
Ich denke, die sinnvollste Möglichkeit wäre, auf der Evergreen Liste (de/en) nachzufragen:
